Comme des Garçons is ready to drop their Nike Air Foamposite One this week.
The collaborative shoe made its debut on the runway back in January of this year during the Comme des Garçons’s Fall/Winter 2021 “Darkroom” runway show. Following the show, the shoe caused lots of buzz on social media as the brand tackled an iconic Nike silhouette, the Air Foamposite One, with a pleasing twist. Maintaining the model’s traditional design elements, the Rei Kawakubo-founded brand incorporated visually captivating 3D circular ripples on the sneaker’s upper, mimicking the design of Japanese zen garden.
A few creative figures have already got their hands on the shoes including photographer Renell Medrano. She was spotted in the collaboration’s Foamposite sneakers in black, coordinated with a Still Kelly hoodie and other black pieces.
As previewed on the runway, the Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Foamposite will release in both black and white. The sneaker is set to drop this Friday, November 5th at 11AM EST at the brand’s stores, Dover Street Market New York, and on the DSMNY E-SHOP. There will be no release through Nike. Retail is $520.
