AFROPUNK and adidas Continue Their Partnership With Release of the New TRIPLE PLATFORUM

Back in June of this year, global platform AFROPUNK and leading sports brand adidas announced their first ever collaboration with the successful release of the TRIPLE PLATFORUM sneaker under the campaign titled “Live the F@%k Out Loud“. Now, the duo is back with a new colorway to the freshly-introduced sneaker model which continues to provoke young creatives to embrace who they are unapologetically.

Founded by James Spooner and Matthew Morgan (now, ex co-founder), AFROPUNK kicked off its very first festival in 2005 as a cultural celebration and invitation for independent, alternative Black creatives to express themselves freely amongst other non-conforming individuals. The festival itself was inspired by the film Afro-Punk (2002), of which Morgan produced and Spooner directed, exploring the lifestyle of Black punks in America. Fast forward to over a decade later, AFROPUNK has solidified itself as a safe space and movement for young Black change-makers to come together to redefine the Black experience, push for inclusiveness, and freely express themselves through cultural elements such as art, fashion, music, and more.

Joining forces with adidas Originals for the TRIPLE PLATFORUM, the AFROPUNK collaboration seemed like a no-brainer. The shoe serves as a fresh and excitable take on the cultural icon that is the Forum, taking the shoe to new heights with an extremely raised sole and adding a punk-like edge with the buckle. Also, it is important to note the fluidity of the PLATFORUM as it confidently attracts anyone to lace up with them. Resonating with the core values of the global movement, the latest version of the shoe prompts you to rise up and live in your truth, boldly and fashionably.

For the second release of the collaboration, the adidas TRIPLE PLATFORUM offers a contrasting color twist to the first drop with a colorway reminiscent of AFROPUNK’S black and white aesthetic. The shoe rests on a triple platform sole with a leather upper in primary black with a dab of white wrapping around the heel. The well-known Trefoil logo graces the tongue while the iconic Three Stripes finds itself blacked out but still obviously present in smooth suede, representing the brand’s heritage. Not to mention, the all-black sneaker comes with three vibrantly colored lace options, offering pops of color for an even more spunky touch to the already-bold kicks.

The new Live the F@%k Out Loud campaign presents a new roster of expressive game-changers to embody the essence of embracing the beauty in being yourself without fear of judgment. Photographed by Christian Cody, figures like music artist Junglepussy, non-binary TikTok content creator Antoni Bumba, and bionic model and singer Marsha Elle share their creative journeys and stories of living life as their most authentic selves.

The AFROPUNK x adidas TRIPLE PLATFORUM is now available on adidas.com for $150 with sizes ranging from a men’s 4/women’s 5 to men’s 11.5/women’s 12.5.
