“Another one”, as DJ Khaled might say, is the best way to describe the latest collaboration between Chicago “bootleg” designer Joe Freshgoods and Boston sportswear brand New Balance. After months of teases, Joe Freshgoods officially dropped his New Balance “Outside Clothes” collection, including apparel and a 990v3 sneaker, back in early August where he offered first dibs to his hometown of Chicago. Much like anything the creative works on, the collaboration came with a story which honored Washington D.C. and the nostalgia surrounding the Black summertime experience of “being outside” with friends and family.
The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance “Outside Clothes” apparel features a button shirt with matching shorts, short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees, hoodies, sweatshorts, and sweatpants. Graphics captured the essence of the outdoors with drawings of flowers intertwined with lettering, artwork of children playing outside in the collection’s featured sneakers, and blue skies met with wipsy white clouds encompassing the sneaker’s packaging.
After serving Chicago and a chance to cop exclusively through his platform, Joe Freshgoods announced the collection would be receiving a global release on Friday, September 10th. Like his previous New Balance 992 “Anatomy of a Heart” collaboration, it is likely the latest will also be hard to get your hands on, but we have a list of stores and raffles to increase your chance!
