It was announced in May of 2019 that Marine Serre and Nike were teaming along with other female designers like Yoon Ahn of AMBUSH, Christelle Kocher of Koché, and Erin Magee of Made Me to produce a collection for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The iconic collection featured World Cup-inspired pieces, tapping into Nike’s yearlong initiative to increase its female-oriented focus.
The collection was released in June, just in time for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. While all the pieces of the collection were iconic, a particular garment stood out to me a lot and has been spotted on countless streetwear influencers and celebrities: Marine Serre and Nike’s bodysuit.
The bodysuit comes with a neon jersey as a 2-in-1 special for $250 on Nike.com. The bodysuit is essentially their moon print bodysuit adapted to incorporate the Nike Swoosh. The collaboration between the two brands is honestly perfect. Marine Serre is known for clashing French elements of fashion with sportswear fabrics, so bringing the sportswear giant, Nike, into the picture was a match made in heaven.
