Emerging and independent designers are capturing the attention of streetwear’s favorite faces through their innovative and creative pieces. One particular British designer, A Sai Tai, has a top out that streetwear can’t seem to get enough of. Aleali May, Rihanna, and SZA have all worn this tie-dyed top from A Sai Tai’s ASAI brand.
The “Hot Wok” turtleneck top features a tie-dye mixture on a stretchy top with ruffles. The colors of the top are meant to represent the designer’s Chinese-Vietnamese heritage but with modern British design elements. The top originally appeared in ASAI’s Fall/Winter 2019 RTW collection. However, the SS19 collection placed ASAI in the hearts of fashionistas as a cult favorite.
As spotted on several well known faces in the industry, the “Hot Wok” is available at SSENSE, FarFetch, and Opening Ceremony currently for $295-365.
