adidas Taps Saudi Arabian Designer Arwa Al Banawi for Forum 84 Low for the Ladies

Saudi Arabian designer Arwa Al Banawi will be collaborating with adidas for a Forum 84 Low exclusively for women.

With this collaboration through adidas, Arwa Al Banawi made her intentions clear stating that that “You can be a woman and wear sneakers.” With her brand, she delivers timeless fashion-forward silhouettes “made for the suitable woman” matched with contemporary design details, inspiring women of the community to break barriers in fashion. This upcoming Forum 84 Low simply serves as a continuation of her advocacy for women empowerment.

Banawi has also infused her Arabic culture with her modernly tailored suits and plans to showcase her heritage with this joint adidas project. The sneaker and the accompanying mountainous campaign draws inspiration from the ibex mountain goat, which Banawi describes as her spirit animal. Details such as the the red and white checked houndstooth pattern on the heel nod to keffiyehs, a traditional scarf won on the head in the Middle East. Additionally, the iconic adidas three stripes take on the form of hand-embroidery rather than its traditional leather fabric. There is also phrase written in Farsai, Iranian-Persian language, in gold on the upper joined by the adidas Originals logo.

The sneaker ultimately provides women with a neutral color palette of various whites complete with subtle yet significant details, giving the ladies a shoe that can be worn all day, everyday. While Arwa Al Banawi’s presence is felt in its features, the shoe also remains true to the adidas Forum Low’s heritage as it keeps classic components such as the ankle strap.

The Arwa Al Banawi x adidas Forum 84 Low is scheduled to release this Friday, May 28th at 10AM EST for $100 on the adidas CONFIRMED app.
