Nike Brings Back the Swarovski Air Max 97 in ‘Polar Blue’ Colorway

Swarovski crystals are slowly becoming the girls’ new best friend and Nike is aware that adding them on a sneaker is an instant success. Back in 2020, Cactus Plant Flea Market released the Nike Dunk Low with Swarovski crystals in both Pure Platinum and Spiral Sage. They sold out instantly, being worn by figures like Kylie Jenner and Kristen Noel Crawley.

Gearing up for Air Max Day 2021, Nike will be releasing a Swarovski-covered Air Max 97 in “Polar Blue” this week. The sneaker colorway includes a crystalized upper complete with polar blue miniature Nike Swoosh.

The “Polar Blue” serves as a rerelease as it is reminiscent of the 2017 Nike Air Max 97 LX “Silver Bullet”. The Air Max sneaker included over 55,690 individual crystals embedded on the sneaker along with red accents like the popping red Swoosh on the quarter panel. The Silver Bullet was Nike’s first time using Swarovski crystal on a shoe.

In 2018, Nike released the Swarovski x Nike Air Max 97 LX “Metallic Gold” famously worn by Columbian singer Kali Uchis during a performance of her single “Killer” on popular YouTube channel Colors.

The luxurious Nike Air Max 97 Swarovski “Polar Blue” sneaker will be releasing as a women’s release on SNKRS on March 25th for $400.
