Nike’s Jordan Brand announced that it would be releasing an 8×8 collection specifically for the NBA’s All-Star 2020. Dubbed as UNITE, the collection will feature apparel and sneakers by 8 Chicago creatives including Virgil Abloh, Lyrical Lemonde, Drew the Barber, TheSocialWorks, SucceZZ, The Wingz, Cody Hudson, and Sheila Rashid. Each creative was tasked with incorporating a color from one of the city’s 8 transit lines to reimagine what UNITE means to them.
Of course, Sheila Rashid stood out to us with her take on the collaboration. This isn’t the first time Sheila and Jordan have crossed paths as they just released a shoe together last year, the Air Jordan 1 Low Slip women’s sneakers. Now, Rashid will be releasing an Air Jordan 1 mid in a grey and purple color combination. The sneaker features the dopest color block technique as the smooth suede grey transitions into the toe dipped in a leather royal purple, channeling the designer’s eccentric style and personality. Sheila Rashid will also be releasing a hoodie and long sleeve shirt as apart of the collaboration.
The full collection will be available on February 15th during All-Star weekend.
Update: Sheila Rashid’s Air Jordan 1 Mid is releasing on SNKRS on March 2nd.
