Rumors had been circulating concerning Dior and Nike’s Jordan brand potential collaboration and now, it is officially happening. Last week, the Italian designer brand held its first US menswear show in Miami, Florida where the sneakers were seen strutting down the runway for its Pre-Fall 2020 collection. Hours before the show even began, Dior’s creative director, Kim Jones, posted a 360 degree view of the sneakers on Instagram. This was the first look at the sneakers, confirming that the rumors were in fact true. Soon after the post, reactions poured in regarding Dior and Jordan’s sneaker as some people found the shoe to be unexciting and others claimed it to be the cop of 2020.
The presence of both brands is clearly felt throughout the collaboration. Nike’s iconic Swoosh features Dior’s vintage logo in jacquard all-over detailing. The Air Jordan Wing logo consists of the words “Air Dior” which is also located on the bottom of one sneaker with the modern-day Dior logo located on the bottom of the other sneaker.
The sneaker is rumored to retail at $2,000 and is expected to be resold for nearly $20,000 on the sneaker resale market. Nike confirmed that the sneaker will release in April of 2020 with specific dates to come.
