Meet Pretty Phresh’s Founder: Morgan Smith
My name is Morgan Smith (@muvamorgs), the editor and founder of Pretty Phresh.
Born and raised in Virginia, I’ve loved writing since I was in elementary school. College renewed my love for the hobby as I began working as a freelance writer for a local upcoming magazine called Such A Tease Magazine. I later began to work with Fashion Bomb Daily as an editorial intern.
Writing became an outlet for me to discuss fashion and important topics surrounding the industry, ultimately turning two passions into a career.
I’ve loved streetwear and sneakers since I was a little girl. I was so fascinated by my dad’s sneaker collection, and I would go to the guys’ section for my graphic tees and hoodies. As I continued these habits as an older woman, I began to question why women’s streetwear offerings felt almost non-existent, or why were women still being almost completely left out of sneaker and streetwear conversations altogether. And the big one: where were the women that looked like me? After further research, which brought even more question, my calling was clear.
It’s time for the world to wake up to the ladies and their powerful influence on sneaker culture. I wanted to highlight the dope women behind it all.
That’s when Pretty Phresh was born.
