Foot Locker Unveils 2021 Designers for Behind Her Label Platform Featuring LIV Streetwear’s Olivia Anthony, Cortijo Sanchez Design’s Carla Cortijo, and Daughter of an Immigrant’s Leslie and Karen Garcia

Foot Locker has been on a roll for Women’s History Month as they recently announced Melody Ehsani as their newest creative director for womenswear. Now, the company has announced the newest female streetwear designers to join their 2021 roster of their Behind Her Label initiative. We covered the launch of the platform back in October as they tapped streetwear designers Olivia Anthony of LIV Streetwear and Amanda Litzinger of Stick Baby along with artist Shane Sadeghi-Ray to share their journeys as well design their own capsule collections for Foot Locker. Now it’s time to meet the newest designers of Behind Her Label.

Joining the 2021 Class of Behind Her Label, Foot Locker welcomed Carla Cortijo of Cortijo Sanchez Design and Leslie and Karen Garcia of Daughter of an Immigrant as well as furthered their partnership with LIV Streetwear’s Olivia Anthony.

Through her brand LIV Streetwear, Olivia Anthony encourages everyone to embrace their true, authentic selves without remorse. In other word, she empowers wearers of her brand to just “LIV”.

Carla Cortijo of Cortijo Sanchez Designs

Carla Cortijo is a former professional WBNA basketball player and now current designer behind the self-named brand known as Cortijo Sanchez Designs which offers streetwear for all genders as well as dope handcrafted accessories like basketball bags. She birthed her brand by combining her two passions: fashion and basketball.

Leslie and Karen Garcia of Daughter of an Immigrant

Led by Latina daughters Leslie and Karen Garcia, Daughter of an Immigrant is a brand that based on the pride and appreciation of their immigrant families and lifestyles. While the brand serves as celebration of the impact and bravery of their identities and relatives, it also encourages other immigrant children to do the same.

If this class of Behind Her Label designers follows in the footsteps of the last group, you can expect capsule collections from each of these designers in the coming months. Congratulations to these dope women!
